Why Production

WHY IS BEING IN A DANCE & MUSICAL THEATRE PRODUCTION GOOD FOR YOUR CHILD?

Develops Talents

In preparation for each production, cast members choose which classes to participate in to develop their understanding and abilities in their respective interests and talents.  All classes unify together to produce each production.

Increases Confidence

Each cast member has an increased self esteem by mastering new skills, getting out of their comfort zone, and enhancing self discipline.

Is A Creative Outlet

By learning diverse skills, cultures, and classic tales the cast is able to enhance their appreciation for the arts and increase their creativity.

Improves Cognitive Skills

The way we instruct improves memory, ability to organize, and prioritize.  These core skills are used by our brains to think, read, learn, remember, reason, and pay attention.  Many cast parents have reported an increase in academic results as a direct result of the disciplines learned while participating in production.

Gets Them Active

Cast members will experience an increase in coordination, flexibility, strength, reduced stress, improved posture, poise, and balance.  These physical skills are crucial for youth with the increased use of technology and electronics in their lives.

Increases Social Skills

While working as a cast towards a common goal (Excellence & Fun on Production Day!), cast members are able to build vital communication skills, make friends, understand unity, create lasting memories, and develop emotional maturity.

WE DO MORE THAN DANCE & MUSICAL THEATRE...
WE DEVELOP STARS!

"The STARS! program is much more than a place to develop talents. It is a place where each child can feel loved, inspired, and challenged to develop the necessary skills to achieve anything they desire!  I enjoy being able to share my love for dance and musical theatre!!! The pride I feel in seeing my cast perform is only secondary to the pride each child feels and continues to feel long after the curtain has come down."

Andrew Higdon, Parent

Both of my daughters grew up in the Evanston STARS program. I have watched them grow before my eyes through their involvement. I can honestly say both of them shine as STARS because of this wonderful program. They have learned so many skills that will always stay with them. In dance, cheer, and musical productions my girls have excelled because of the hard work put into the program by Caddie and her team. I highly recommend STARS to any parent and their children.
